Meet Janet
I Believe People Are Capable of More Than They Often Believe About Themselves For nearly 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people as a coach, speaker, trainer, and simply someone who loves to encourage.
But honestly, what I love most about what I do isn’t the title. It’s the moment when someone has an “ah-ha” moment and says, “I’ve never thought about it that way before.” It’s watching someone recognize a belief that has been holding them back, see a possibility they couldn’t see before, or find the courage to take a step they weren’t sure they could take. Those are the moments that keep me passionate about coaching.
Why I Coach
My journey as a coach began out of my own personal journey. I know what it is like to feel lost and have your internal compass spinning. Through a series of losses in my own life, there were seasons when it felt like I had to build a new life from the ground up. I had to find my way forward, discover what was next, and learn to believe in myself again. That journey and my experiences influenced my desire to coach and to help my clients find their voice again and move past the limiting beliefs that are holding them back in life.
I tend to believe that my clients are very special, uniquely gifted, and capable of more than they often give themselves credit for or believe about themselves. Sometimes they just need someone to come alongside them, listen without judgment, ask the right questions, and give them that extra nudge of encouragement that helps them take the next step.
Women continue to hold a very special place in my heart, and I have continued to work with them. However, my work has grown beyond one group. I’ve had the opportunity to coach and encourage people from many different backgrounds and walks of life. I’ve spoken to groups that included both women and men, worked with ministry leaders and business owners, and trained coaches around the world.
The people may be different. Their stories may be different. But the heart of the work is the same: helping people move forward.
What I Believe About Coaching
In coaching, if I am doing my job correctly, I am not telling people what to do. I am not there to give people a life plan. I am there to help them discover theirs.
Life has chapters. Some are exciting. Some are difficult. Some surprise us. And sometimes we find ourselves standing at the beginning of a chapter we never expected. But I believe there is always a next step. And sometimes, we just need someone to help us see it.
My Faith
My faith is an important part of who I am, how I live my life, and how I try to see people. It has carried me through some of the most difficult seasons of my own life and deeply influences the way I coach, encourage, and train others.
I believe every person has unique value, purpose, and God-given potential. I believe we are deeply loved by our Maker, even in the seasons when we may struggle to see our own worth or know what comes next.
At the same time, I don’t believe my coaching should ever be about imposing my faith on someone else. I meet people where they are. My faith simply shapes the hope, compassion, and perspective I bring to the journey.
Nearly 20 Years of Coaching & Training
What began as a heart to help people experience personal breakthroughs has grown in ways I never could have imagined. My husband, Daryl, and I have spent nearly two decades coaching, training coaches, developing resources, and building communities around the work of coaching.
Together, we co-founded Life Breakthrough Coaching & Academy and the Biblical Coaching Alliance. Today, we’ve had the privilege of training coaches in more than 61 countries around the world. That number still amazes me. Because behind every country is a person. And behind every person is a story. That’s what has always mattered most to me.
And Then There’s Janet
When I’m not coaching, training, or speaking, you’ll usually find me enjoying a good cup of coffee, spending time with people I love, working in my garden, or finding a little time to get away to the beach.
The simple things in life matter to me. Through the years, I have realized that life isn’t just about our big accomplishments. It’s so important to treasure the simple joys of life and the people we love. And perhaps that’s another reason I love helping people with their next chapter. Because life is happening right now—not someday when everything is figured out.
So, if you’re exploring coaching, looking for support in your own next chapter, considering becoming a coach, or simply wanting a little encouragement for the road ahead, I’m glad you’re here.
I hope you’ll find something here that helps you gain a little clarity, believe a little more in what is possible, and take one more step forward. Because you may not know exactly what your next chapter looks like yet. But you don’t have to figure it all out at once.
Sometimes, you just need to discover the next step.
