Rethinking New Year’s Resolutions

By Christian Life Coaching

Well, the countdown has started for the new year. Out with the old and in with the new. This is the time when many of us start thinking about our New Year’s resolutions, things we want to change or do differently.

I have decided that this year rather than think so much about what I want to eliminate or rid myself of, to take a new approach. What one thing do I want to add to my life? That actually sounds appealing, more positive and definitely a lot more fun. What one thing will I add to my life in the next 30 days? What one thing will you add to your life in the next 30 days?

Maybe it is to be intentional about laughing more each day. Maybe more water, more fun, 30 minutes of exercise or 30 minutes of organizing your space. It’s amazing what can happen when you focus on one thing consistently for 30 days. One small thing added to your life for the next 30 days could accomplish some pretty big results. Then you can start with something else the next month.

If you think about it that way, you have not only formed a good habit but made a real dent in the change you want to see happen. It’s like the principle of eating an elephant. How do eat an elephant? One fork-full at a time.

I don’t know about you but I am ready for change but I also realize that nothing happens without intentionality and action. If you want something different you have to do something different. So, what will you do different this year? Better yet, take this approach. What one thing will you add to your life?
Happy New Year and best wishes for a prosperous and healthy New Year!
