Looking for a Change in Your Life?

Einstein once said, “The true definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” How true! If you want something different in life, you have to do something different!
If you continue to think the way you have always thought and have the same belief system that you have always had, you are not likely to get the results you are seeking. The people that make significant progress in life and leadership are those who are open to learning new things and are not afraid to challenge their own thinking, their assumptions, and their way of doing things.

As a life coach, I have the opportunity to challenge my clients to think new thoughts, to examine their beliefs, and to reach for new possibilities in life. It’s not only exciting for me, but the client as well. Everyone can use a cheerleader from time-to-time. We just need someone to come alongside to see our potential and to believe that there is a better self in there somewhere. We need someone to challenge us and give us a safe place to explore new ideas, thinking, and perspective.

The longer I live I realize that I need greater wisdom in many areas of life. If my own wisdom has brought me this far in life, then why would I dare think that my own wisdom is going to catapult me into a different direction? True wisdom, it seems to me, is the ability to acknowledge your inadequacies, shortcomings, weaknesses, and even your short-sighted thinking. True wisdom is the ability to seek out help and assistance for challenge, growth and change.

What would your life be like if you thought differently about yourself? What would it be like to see yourself in a new light? What would it be like to find solutions for some of your shortcomings and inadequacies? Is it worth the investment and time it would take to see that happen? Are you worth the investment? It really is something to consider. One thing is for sure – thinking the same way and doing the same old thing is one sure way to keep you going round in circles in life and leadership!
